Victor Delfín

bio

Delfin is considered one of the finest Peruvian artist.  A student of Alejandro Gonzalez, Apurimak, his works and paintings capture in the present the convergence of Ameroindian past from pre-Columbian images representing land, sea and sky to capturing the essence of human existence and love. His work has been described as the "common language", getting to the heart of the matter, capturing the spirit of the object, therefore entrancing that of the observer.  We discovered Delfin when visiting Peru on a business trip, before and after a venture to the amazon and Machu Piccu via Salkantay, in Barranco at his Second Home Peru, where I stayed above his artist workshop and saw him complete some works.  Living a few nights surrounded by his work and being with his family, in the setting of the Pacific crest, was humbling but inspiring and made his creations even more vibrant.  As Delfin states, "When I return home to Barranco after a trip and admire a sunset, I tell myself, as always, "Victor Delfin", watch the horizon lovingly and enjoy it fully.  This may be the last time you look at it."  Passion, intensity...like the sun setting over the Pacific horizon, like soaking in Delfin's works.
